This week, the Butterflies had fun exploring the shapes cones and cylinders using real-life objects. They examined different items, familiarizing themselves with the new vocabulary. To make learning even more exciting, the students played a game called Throw the Ring on the Cone, combining hands-on exploration with playful activity. This week, we delved into the delightful text “Shadow”, where we learned about the directions “front, back, left and right”, and discovered that shadow is a “good friend” hidden in the light. In class, we played the hand shadow game, using our hands to create the lively shapes of birds and dogs. During outdoor exploration, we ran after the shadows of flowers, grass and trees, uncovering the little secrets of light and shadow changes. Through play, we experienced the wonderful integration of Chinese language and nature!
Second Grade（Lion Class） Music

This week, Lion Class explored rhythm through the lively Ghanaian folk song “Senua de dende.” By clapping, singing, and using body percussion, students learned the song’s syncopated opening pattern and discovered how rhythm drives musical energy.

After a strong focus on fractions, Grade 6 smoothly transitioned into the world of decimals this week. We began by revisiting place value and strengthening fluency in the four operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—until the algorithms became second nature.

The learning concluded with a hands-on clay model activity, where he built cell structures and explored similarities and differences in a tangible way. He stayed focused, managed his emotions well, and demonstrated strong motivation and excellent understanding throughout the process.Most of our learning centered on real-world problem-solving. Students tackled multi-step challenges such as analyzing shopping receipts, calculating track-meet times, and converting recipes, all requiring careful decimal precision. Guiding every task was a consistent four-step problem-solving process: understand the question, plan an approach, carry out the calculations, and reflect by checking for reasonableness. This structured cycle helped students build confidence, accuracy, and deeper mathematical thinking.
